Alastair Cook (Director) | Automation Engineering and Sales

Alastair has more than 12 years of experience as an automation engineer. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Technology (with Honours) majored in Automation and Engineering from Massey University, Palmerston North. Alastair spent the following 7 years as an automation engineer for Easteel Industries (now RCR Energy) where he was solely responsible for the automation of many large scale industrial boiler installations (30MW+). Through this role Alastair gained invaluable experience in developing functional descriptions, instrumentation, process design, PLC/SCADA software development, electrical design/fault-finding, commissioning, and project management. In 2007 Alastair founded Automation For Industry Limited and has since successfully completed many projects within Australasia in a large variety of industries. In late 2011 Alastair partnered with Michael Williams to form AFI Limited.

Michael Williams (Director) | Automation & Electrical Engineering and Sales

Michael has more than 25 years of experience as a registered industrial electrician and Technical Manager. As the charge hand electrician for National Can Ltd he managed numerous major automation projects including the complete automation of the production lines, various energy conservation projects, and a total plant relocation in 1997. As the Technical Manager for Three Phase Electrical and Encontrol he managed and personally worked on a large number of automation projects with scopes ranging from research and development through to implementation and documentation. In late 2011 Michael partnered with Alastair Cook to form AFI Limited.
